Software roles here split into two kinds. In one, you read code a model wrote and say whether it works, where it breaks and what a correct version looks like. In the other you do real engineering (fixing bugs, refactoring, implementing a feature) and the work itself becomes the training example. Postings name languages rather than frameworks: Java, Rust, TypeScript, Python and C++ come up most, alongside algorithms, code review and performance optimisation. Some ask for a public GitHub history or open-source commits you can point at; a few are narrower, covering CUDA and GPU programming, DevOps, or backend and frontend only. What gets judged is whether your fix is correct and whether your explanation of it would survive review by another engineer. Seniority shows up in the rate rather than the title. Remote, hourly or per task, contract, paid at whatever each posting lists.

Pay is what each posting lists, in US dollars: an hourly rate, or a fixed amount per session or per task. We never estimate or convert one into the other.
