What the work involves for CAD and manufacturing specialists

CAD work is unusually checkable: a model produces geometry or a script, and you say whether the part is right. Postings name the tool, FreeCAD by a wide margin, then SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and Fusion 360, and several want parametric modelling, assembly design or CAD automation in Python rather than drawing by hand. The manufacturing side is smaller and more specific: CAM programming, CNC machining, and roles that ask whether a design can actually be made. Some postings are about auditing models someone else built, so reading another person's feature tree and finding the mistake matters as much as producing your own. What is judged is whether the dimensions, constraints and tolerances hold, and whether your written note explains the failure clearly. Remote, hourly contract work, at whatever rate the posting lists.

Pay is what each posting lists, in US dollars: an hourly rate, or a fixed amount per session or per task. We never estimate or convert one into the other.
