Your tasks: Build complex legal reasoning tasks from your own practice
micro1 is engaging practicing U.S. attorneys to design the legal reasoning problems that measure what AI systems can actually do. Your legal expertise is what matters here — no prior AI experience required.
The work draws on what you do every day: taking a complex fact pattern, identifying the issues that matter, and reasoning to a defensible conclusion. We’re expanding this pipeline and looking for attorneys who can produce genuinely difficult problems — the kind where the answer depends on reading the authority correctly.
What you’ll do
- Build complex legal reasoning tasks from scenarios like those you handle in practice, with realistic supporting materials.
- Provide the correct analysis and walk through the reasoning that gets there.
- Define what makes an answer right, so another attorney reviewing it would reach the same verdict.
- Review tasks built by other attorneys for legal accuracy and soundness of reasoning.
- Flag tasks that turn out to be ambiguous or ungradable rather than submitting them.
What we’re looking for
- J.D. and active U.S. bar license in good standing.
- 3–15 years of practice experience, actively practicing in litigation, corporate, real estate, bankruptcy, or compliance.
- Strong preference for seasoned litigators.
- Judicial clerkship experience is a strong plus.
- Law school teaching or legal instruction experience is a strong plus.
- Law review or journal editorial experience is a plus.
- Prior experience on legal AI or legal data projects is a strong plus.
- English at C1 level or above.
