Role details

micro1 is engaging experienced Rates traders to participate in a project supporting a leading investment bank’s algorithmic trading desk. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  • Evaluate AI-generated trading strategies for rates products, providing feedback based on your professional experience and knowledge of real market dynamics.
  • Assess the realism and market viability of AI outputs related to interest rate swaps, swaptions, Treasury futures, Eurodollar/SOFR, and repo instruments.
  • Offer structured, actionable commentary on algorithmic strategies and decision rationale.
  • Identify market scenarios where AI recommendations diverge from actual trading desk practices.
  • Suggest improvements to increase the accuracy and sophistication of AI-generated trading logic.
  • Engage in written and verbal discussions to clarify reasoning and facilitate the AI training process.
  • Contribute flexibly to project milestones in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or former Rates trader at an investment bank or hedge fund.
  • Extensive hands-on experience trading interest rate swaps, swaptions, Treasury futures, Eurodollar/SOFR, and repo products.
  • Background in algorithmic or systematic trading on a Rates desk (VP, Director, or similar level strongly preferred).
  • In-depth understanding of rates market structure, pricing, and risk management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex trading insights.
  • Comfort evaluating quantitative strategies and explaining their real-world applicability.
  • Previous experience collaborating on technology or trading system projects is a plus.
