What the work is

Role Title: Visual Designer (Deck/Presentation focused)

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote (NAMER, Europe-based)

micro1 is engaging Visual Designer (Deck/Presentation focused) experts to contribute to a pioneering customer project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  1. Design and author expert-level presentation tasks using reference decks, brand assets, and structured content inputs.
  2. Create gold-standard example decks that exemplify refined craft in typography, grid, hierarchy, and visual system fidelity.
  3. Define clear, actionable, and concrete criteria for what constitutes "on-brand" and "polished" presentation design for varied tasks.
  4. Develop comprehensive visual rubrics evaluating model outputs on visual craft, style consistency, and template adherence.
  5. Identify and flag visual failure modes specific to AI design (e.g., misaligned grids, inconsistent hierarchy, off-brand elements).
  6. Communicate feedback and reasoning effectively, demonstrating care for both written and verbal articulation of visual standards.
  7. Collaborate with stakeholders to iterate on presentation tasks, templates, and evaluation systems as the project evolves.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 3–5 years of proven experience in agency, in-house corporate comms/brand, or as an independent deck/presentation designer.
  2. Advanced skills in typography, layout, color usage, iconography, and grid systems.
  3. Fluency in building, extending, and applying visual template systems across multiple slide types and content scenarios.
  4. Demonstrated ability to infer and replicate visual styles from reference decks with a high degree of accuracy.
  5. Portfolio showcasing high-craft presentation design (e.g., board decks, pitch decks, sales decks, brand system projects).
  6. Expert-level proficiency in PowerPoint and/or Keynote; strong familiarity with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
  7. Experience authoring evaluation rubrics or participating in AI training projects is a plus.
  8. Exposure to template redesigns at scale, translating brand guidelines to robust presentation systems, or designing for data-rich decks is valued.

Compensation Structure

Compensation is output-based; experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete work may vary depending on the expert’s experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply. Experts must submit a minimum of tasks per week.

Start Timeline & Availability

We typically fill roles within 48 hours and are looking for experts ready to jump in right away. If selected, we expect you to start your first tasks within 24–48 hours of completing onboarding.
