Scope of Work

  1. Analyze and interpret source technical materials, including API references, developer guides, and release notes, to produce well-structured documentation.
  2. Create and edit high-quality technical content—guides, tutorials, architecture documents—that clarify complex topics for audiences ranging from developers to business stakeholders.
  3. Apply information architecture best practices to organize and present documentation for ease of use, discoverability, and scalability.
  4. Implement and adhere to style guides, docs-as-code standards, and editorial guidelines to ensure consistency across deliverables.
  5. Evaluate existing documentation for clarity, completeness, and accuracy; recommend and implement improvements where necessary.
  6. Clearly explain documentation decisions, tradeoffs, and reasoning to stakeholders and collaborators through written narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience producing developer or product documentation (API docs, integration guides, onboarding materials, tutorials, release notes).
  2. Expertise in technical writing, information architecture, and editing for mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
  3. Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex concepts and communicate them simply and concisely.
  4. Proficiency working with docs-as-code workflows (Markdown, Git, CI/CD), and applying style guides such as Microsoft, Google, or custom guidelines.
  5. Exceptional written English and attention to detail in grammar, structure, and terminology.
  6. Experience owning the structure, quality, and strategy of end-to-end documentation sets.
  7. Background with leading universities or highly regarded organizations is especially valued.
